Benigno Zerafa: Music, Manuscripts and Mdina in the 18th Century

The newly restored Mdina Cathedral Archives will inaugurate a new exhibition space with a special exhibition dedicated to Benigno Zerafa, one of Malta's most distinguished 18th-century composers. Bringing together rare manuscripts and archival documents related to Zerafa and Mdina during the eighteenth century, the exhibition features important music manuscripts, financial records, plans of Mdina Cathedral, and documents relating to his employment with the Cathedral Chapter. This inaugural exhibition will offer a unique insight into the musical, cultural, and ecclesiastical life of the period through the rich collections of the Archives. The exhibition launch date is planned for the 10th October, 2026
